How long can you hold your breath underwater?

ITs a really stupid question but interesting at the same time. Just estimate and telll the truth no show off who says I can hold my breath for 10 minutes.

I can hold for a minute maybe a little bit more.

Maybe. The longest I've ever held my breath underwater, while recording, was 50 seconds. I was breathing the air in my cheeks =D

ermmm i say about 15 sec's coz i cant swim so..

I would say for about recorded 1 min and 3 sec.

Aww. You did hold that underwater, right?
I held my breath while laying down in bed, completely still. I made it to a minute ten seconds. It's a lot harder underwater though.

Yes because when you're underwater, there is a pressure that builds up and forces your lungs to exhale the air faster.
That's why submarines need THICK walls to be able to go underwater.

True, even in a pool its hard to hold your breath that long.

About 40 seconds.....or if you want an honest esitimate around 26, I can hold it for a while, but than I just die of exhaustion.

If you want to hold your breath longer you can always run a lot and breath deeply so your lungs expand and get used to holding a lot of air.

the only reason i can hold my breath that long is probably because i play baseball, basketball soccer bowling golfing and a ton of other sports and because i am getting near high school i get up every morning and run about 2 miles
